Arbor Christian Fellowship’s Kids Alive Choir Shines in “Back to the Cross” Performance Weekend
Kids Alive Choir Shares the Gospel Through Song and Story in a Powerful Weekend of Worship and Performance
Saturday, May 17 at 6 p.m. & Sunday, May 18 at 10:45 a.m. | 2025
It was a weekend filled with joy, worship, and purpose as the children of Arbor Christian Fellowship’s Kids Alive Choir presented their spring musical, “Back to the Cross,” on Saturday evening, May 17, and again during Sunday morning worship on May 18. The sanctuary was filled with family, friends, and church members who came to support our young performers—and were richly blessed by the experience.
This exciting and adventurous musical took the audience on a journey through time, ultimately pointing everyone back to the truth and hope of the cross of Christ. The children brought the stage to life with energized songs, fun choreography, dramatic storytelling, and some surprise moments that kept the audience engaged from start to finish.
The presentation was the culmination of months of hard work and preparation, as the kids began rehearsing all the way back in January. They committed themselves to learning lines, memorizing Bible verses, refining their music, and practicing stage movement—all to use their God-given gifts and talents to glorify Him.
The Kids Alive Choir has been lovingly led for over 37 years by the incredible mother-daughter duo Hilda Veturis and Chelsey Baker. Their dedication to discipling children through music ministry is deeply rooted, with Chelsey herself having grown up in the choir—once a “tiny tyke” now faithfully leading the next generation. Their love and leadership have been instrumental in creating a space where children can grow in confidence, creativity, and Christ-centered purpose.
One of the most touching aspects of this spring’s performance was the inclusion of even the youngest children, who were thrilled to sing and participate alongside the older kids. Their enthusiasm and sincere hearts were evident as they sang, worshipped, and shared the gospel message through their performance. It was a beautiful sight to see them learning Scripture, speaking their lines boldly, and declaring truth in a way that only children can—with joy, innocence, and power.
For many in the audience, the greatest blessing was witnessing the spiritual and personal growth in each child—from those stepping on stage for the first time to others growing in leadership and stage presence from musical to musical. With two performances a year, it’s a joy to see how the children continue to flourish—not just in performance—but in their love for God and His Word.
“Back to the Cross” was more than just a production—it was a vibrant and heartfelt ministry that touched lives, celebrated young faith, and reminded all in attendance of the enduring power of the gospel.
We are so proud of our Kids Alive Choir and deeply grateful for the countless volunteers, parents, and church members who support this ministry with prayer, encouragement, and love. Most of all, we thank God for the work He is doing in the hearts of our children as they worship Him in spirit and truth.
If you missed it—don’t worry! Our next performance is already in the works. Join us next season as our kids continue to grow in grace and boldly share the love of Jesus through music and drama. At Arbor Christian Fellowship, we treasure each child deeply. From the tiniest voice to the most seasoned speaker, every child is a precious gift from God—uniquely created, deeply loved by Him, and incredibly valued by us. What a joy and honor it is to watch them grow, worship, and shine for His glory.
