Awana Store Night – A Joyful Celebration of Scripture, Service, and Stewardship
Awana Clubbers Wrap Up the Year with Exciting Rewards, Generous Giving, and a Heart for God’s Word
Wednesday, May 21, 2025 | Arbor Christian Fellowship
On Wednesday evening, May 21, Arbor Christian Fellowship hosted the final Awana Store Night of the year—a much-anticipated tradition that honors the faithfulness and effort of our Awana clubbers.
The night began at 6 p.m. with a warm and delicious dinner, graciously prepared and served by Miss Tina, featuring pizza and Italian favorites. Families and children gathered for food and fellowship, grateful for the community and connection.
At 6:30 p.m., we transitioned into our classic Awana Opening Ceremony, led by our devoted Awana Commander, Mr. Robert. Children and flag bearers proudly participated in the pledges to the American flag and the Awana flag, followed by a heartfelt singing of the Awana theme song: "Firmly Awana stands, led by the Lord’s commands. Approved workmen are not ashamed..." (2 Timothy 2:15).
With announcements and a prayer, we continued our tradition of beginning every evening by humbling ourselves before God. We bowed in reverence, thanking Him for His goodness, faithfulness, and the tender mercies that are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23).
Afterward, children were invited into one of the most exciting parts of the Awana year—Store Night. Throughout the season, clubbers earned Awana Dollars for memorizing Bible verses, participating in lessons, bringing their club gear and supplies, and showing engagement and leadership. These dollars could now be joyfully exchanged for a wide variety of items, carefully selected and made possible by the generous support of the Arbor Christian Fellowship community.
The store was stocked with everything from art supplies, dolls, toy cars, and books, to science kits, gardening tools, potted plants, butterfly habitats, and fun pool accessories. Children also found Bibles, action Bibles, missionary biographies, Bible journaling supplies, and other resources to continue building their faith at home.
Beyond shopping, this season offered a unique opportunity for children to practice generosity. Through a partnership with the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, children could donate their Awana Dollars to support North American Mission Board missionaries. Arbor will turn those Awana Dollars into real funds—and together, eight children gave an incredible $1,058. At $5 per verse, that represents more than 200 verses memorized and a deep commitment to both learning and giving.
As we close out the Awana year, we invite everyone to join us for our final gathering:
Awana Parents and Awards Night
Wednesday, May 28, 2025
Dinner at 6 p.m.
Ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.
Theme: Camping Night
At this event, Pastor Steve and Rose will also be hosting a special table of Biblical Counseling books for children, parents, and anyone who works with children. These carefully chosen resources are part of their ministry mission: equipping the Saints with scriptural, foundational, and encouraging counseling books to sharpen one another in the process of sanctification for the glory of God.
We hope you will join us in celebrating the hard work, spiritual growth, and generosity of our Awana clubbers, who are so precious in Jesus' sight (Matthew 19:14). May their example inspire each of us to "memorize what matters" and to treasure the Word of God in our own hearts and lives.
