Digging Into the Truth: Arbor Christian Fellowship Prepares for Vacation Bible School 2025

Exploring Ancient Evidence and Eternal Truths, VBS 2025 Brings the Bible to Life

This summer, children in Lake Forest, California, will be donning their explorer hats and stepping into the role of junior archaeologists—all in the name of discovering something far more valuable than ancient artifacts. From July 21 to 25, 2025, Arbor Christian Fellowship is welcoming kids from the local community to its annual Vacation Bible School (VBS), with this year’s theme: Destination Dig.

Free to all children and running from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day, this exciting weeklong program is more than just a fun summer activity. It’s a faith-filled adventure designed to help kids “seek truth and find Jesus” through interactive storytelling, hands-on discovery, and biblical teaching rooted in the archaeological wonders of the Holy Land.

“We’re praying over every detail,” says VBS organizer Ruth Dignadice “From the snacks to the skits to the Bible stories, everything is prepared with love and purpose—so that every child feels welcomed, seen, and strengthened in their walk with God.”

Uncovering the Past to Discover the Truth

Inspired by Lifeway’s Destination Dig curriculum, each day at VBS takes children deeper into a biblical excavation site where they’ll explore evidence that confirms the reality of Jesus Christ. From the discovery of ancient scrolls to the uncovering of historical landmarks, kids will connect the dots between Scripture and real-world history.

Throughout the week, they'll dig into key moments of Jesus’ life:

  • His birth, promised by God

  • His power to heal and transform

  • His betrayal, crucifixion, and resurrection

  • The truth and trustworthiness of the Bible

Alongside these lessons, kids will rotate through a variety of themed stations: singing in the Desert Cave Music room, creating at Artifact Crafts, playing at Recreation Ruins, and learning about global missions in the Missions Market.

Faith, Fun, and a Whole Lot of Heart

But VBS at Arbor Christian Fellowship isn’t just about biblical facts—it’s about creating memories, building friendships, and cultivating a deep sense of belonging in a world that can often feel disconnected.

“Vacation Bible School is one of the most powerful ministries we offer,” says long-time volunteer Carol Allen. “It plunges kids into Scripture in ways they can grasp and remember, gives them a glimpse of how God is working around the world, and invites them to connect personally with Christ. They also get the chance to give and serve—learning that faith isn’t just about receiving, but about reaching out and making a difference in the lives of others.”

The week’s theme verse, Jeremiah 29:13 — “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart” — beautifully captures the heartbeat of the event. It’s an invitation to wonder, to seek, and ultimately to connect with Jesus.
