Returning to the Value of Life: An Australian Outback Adventure Awaits at Arbor's Vacation Bible School
From Bible study and Scripture-rich music to outdoor games, hands-on science, crafts and missions, Arbor's Vacation Bible School invites children to discover that God's truth never changes and every life is precious to Him.
"The best week of the year!"
Ask almost any child who has attended Vacation Bible School at Arbor Christian Fellowship, and you'll likely hear those enthusiastic words. It's a week children eagerly anticipate all year long—a week filled with laughter, discovery, friendship, adventure and, above all, God's Word. We're delighted to offer Vacation Bible School free of charge so every family has the opportunity to experience all that Vacation Bible School has to offer—joyful fellowship, unforgettable fun and life-changing biblical truth.
This summer, from July 20–24, 2026, Arbor Christian Fellowship invites children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade to journey to the Australian Outback with Zoomerang, an exciting Vacation Bible School adventure from Answers in Genesis. Like a boomerang that returns to where it began, Zoomerang returns children to an unchanging biblical truth: every human life is precious because every person is made in the image of God.
Against the breathtaking backdrop of Australia's unique wildlife, vibrant culture and remarkable landscapes, children will discover that from the tiniest baby to the oldest grandparent, every person is wonderfully designed by God, deeply loved by Him and created for His glory. In a world where God's design is often questioned, Zoomerang lovingly points children back to the timeless truth that God's Word never changes.
One of the distinctive joys of Arbor's Vacation Bible School is our commitment to opening God's Word together every single day. Children are encouraged to bring their Bibles, not simply to carry them, but to use them. Throughout the week they will search the Scriptures, follow along in age-appropriate Bible study, and discover for themselves what God says. We want every child to grow in confidence as they learn to navigate God's Word and understand that it is trustworthy, true and relevant for every situation.
The learning doesn't stop in the classroom. Christ-centered, Scripture-rich music fills the campus as children joyfully sing truths from God's Word that stay with them long after VBS has ended. Outdoors, energetic games invite children to run, laugh, strategize and work together while reinforcing each day's memory verse through creative activities that make biblical truth memorable. Every craft provides another opportunity for children to create with their hands while reinforcing the week's message that every person is uniquely fashioned by our Creator and every life has immeasurable value.
This year's Missions rotation adds another exciting dimension. Children will meet real-life missionaries serving around the world while also participating in engaging science experiments designed by Answers in Genesis. These hands-on activities help children see that genuine scientific discovery and biblical truth beautifully align, making apologetics accessible, memorable and fun. Through exploration, observation and discovery, children will be encouraged to think critically while developing confidence that God's creation declares His glory and His Word is always true.
Last summer, children became biblical archaeologists as they explored the reliability of Scripture through the fascinating world of archaeology. This year, our Australian Outback adventure continues that same commitment to biblical truth by celebrating the sanctity of life and affirming that every person has purpose, dignity and value because each one bears the image of God.
Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until noon each day. Families are especially invited to our beloved Family Night on Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m., when children will share what they've learned throughout the week. And, of course, Friday concludes with one of every child's favorite traditions—Water Day—a joyful celebration marking the end of another unforgettable week together.
As our church family prepares for VBS, we invite you to pray with us. Pray that every child who walks onto our campus will have a soft and receptive heart to hear the Gospel. Pray that they will come to know the love of Jesus Christ, grow in their understanding of God's Word and leave equipped to stand confidently upon the truth of Scripture. Most importantly, pray they will embrace the life-changing reality that every person is created in the image of God, infinitely valuable to Him and lovingly invited to become part of His eternal kingdom.
We can hardly wait to welcome your family for what many children have come to call "the best week of the year!" We look forward to serving your little ones, opening God's Word together and discovering once again that His truth never changes.
