Storing Up Treasures in Heaven: Arbor Christian Fellowship Celebrates Another Incredible Awana Year
Arbor Christian Fellowship concluded another incredible year of Awana with two memorable celebrations: the Spring Awana Store and Awards & Parents Night. Children spent Awana Dollars earned through memorizing hundreds of Bible verses, while some chose to invest their earnings in Kingdom work by supporting church-planting missionaries through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Families also gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of Cubbies, Sparks, T&Ters (Truth & Training) and Trek students through Scripture recitations, songs, awards and stories of God's work throughout the year. From more than 1,000 verses memorized by T&T clubbers to Trekkers serving younger students—and from Cubbies reciting John 3:16 to Sparks reciting Psalm 23—the evening highlighted lives being shaped by God's Word and the lasting impact of a ministry dedicated to helping children know, love and live out the truth of Scripture for themselves.
Greater Love: A Valentine’s Evening Rooted in John 15:12–13
On February 14, 2026, Arbor Christian Fellowship hosted a joyful Valentine’s Dinner—our first with Pastor Jonathan as official pastor—bringing our church family together for an evening of Italian cuisine, uplifting music, and meaningful fellowship. Guests enjoyed Mike Stringer’s hearty homemade meatball soup and delightful gluten-free dishes and desserts thoughtfully prepared by Melissa Baker. From Deacon Greg Wideen’s Sinatra-style serenades inspired by Frank Sinatra and special music by The Arbor Angels and Charley Troxel, to Pastor Jonathan’s message on Christ’s enduring, sacrificial love, every detail reflected prayerful preparation and purpose. With gracious leadership from Deacon Liles Cobb and Lou, and lively hosting by emcee Elizabeth Johnson—featuring games and a spirited auction with creative date packages and Liles’ famous strawberry pie—the evening beautifully celebrated steadfast love that unites and strengthens our church family.
Jesus Is the Reason for the Season
The Ladies’ Christmas Tea at Arbor Christian Fellowship, held on Saturday, December 6th, offered a peaceful and joy-filled pause in the midst of December’s busyness as women of all ages and backgrounds gathered to celebrate Jesus, the true reason for the season. The day overflowed with worship—from the sweet voices of the Arbor Angels to the heartfelt music of the El Toro Baptist Church International ladies—and Christine Dickinson’s powerful reminder that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, freely bestows His peace when we simply ask. With Scripture read by young mom Melissa Baker and prayers lifted for NAMB and IMB missionaries celebrating birthdays that day, the event wove together fellowship, worship, and the wonder of Christ, creating a moment that felt beautifully, unmistakably like Heaven on earth.
