A Week of Joy and Celebration at Arbor Christian Fellowship

Music, Giving, and Christmas Wonder for Families and Children

This past week at Arbor Christian Fellowship was nothing short of magical, as children, families, and guests gathered to celebrate the Christmas season through music, ministry, and immersive experiences that pointed to the heart of the season—the birth of Jesus Christ.

Kids Alive Weekend: “We Three Spies”

The week kicked off with more than 45 children taking the stage for Kids Alive Weekend, performing the Christmas musical “We Three Spies.” In this lively and imaginative story, the Christmas Intelligence Kids (CIK) undertake a unique mission for a glamorous client, culminating in a surprise ending that highlights the birth of Jesus—the ultimate gift for all humanity.

Through choreography, tumbling, drama, and song, the children shared the gospel message with radiant energy and joyful smiles during both Saturday evening and Sunday morning performances. For nearly four decades, the Kids Alive ministry has been nurturing children’s confidence, creativity, and faith. Watching the kids blossom and flourish on stage is a highlight for families and congregation members alike. Rehearsals for the next musical begin Friday, January 23, with performances planned for May 2026.

Awana Store & Birthday Party for Jesus

Midweek, the excitement continued with the beloved Awana Store and Birthday Party for Jesus, where children participating in Arbor’s weekly Awana ministry enjoyed a night of faith, fun, and giving. Kids “shopped” with their Awana Dollars, earned through memorizing Scripture, picking gifts for family and friends or contributing to the Compassion Christmas Gift Catalogue. This year’s Compassion donations included Bibles, textbooks, water filters, food for malnourished children, and even aid for a mother and baby living in poverty, helping ensure a healthy start for the youngest in need.

The evening also included the cherished tradition of singing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus, reminding everyone of the true reason for the season. The night ended with Cream the Commander, another joyful Arbor tradition, where children used tickets from the Awana Store to pie the Commander and his teen helpers—a moment of laughter and fun that had smiles lighting up the room.

The Last Train to Bethlehem

The week concluded with a new, immersive experience, The Last Train to Bethlehem. Families boarded a train ride around Arbor’s property to travel through scenes depicting the true events leading up to the birth of Christ. Guests encountered Roman soldiers with live fire and authentic uniforms, angels perched on rooftops, an innkeeper, citizens of Bethlehem, shepherds, wise men, and of course, Mary and Joseph. Each scene offered a vivid, interactive reminder of God sending Jesus to save His people, teaching us how to live, love, and trust Him fully, and pointing to the promise of the resurrection (Romans 10:9).

Guests of all ages enjoyed a cozy, festive atmosphere with live music, playdough and games for children, face painting, and plenty of delicious treats. The evening featured hot chocolate, cider, savory chili, delectable desserts, nachos, homemade cookies, and a professional, hand-crafted coffee pop-up by Cafe Koyan, where attendees could savor specialty coffee drinks while enjoying the sights and sounds of the season. It was a joyful evening of fellowship, laughter, and reflection—where every guest felt at home and part of Arbor’s caring community.

This week of events reminds us that Christmas is about more than celebrations—it’s about joy, service, faith, and fellowship rooted in Christ. The team at Arbor Christian Fellowship looks forward to welcoming everyone to the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Wednesday, December 24, at 6 p.m. for an evening of worship, music, and celebration. Come as you are—there’s a place for everyone in God’s kingdom, and a special seat at Arbor for you.
