Expanding the Mission in Cainta Philippines 2026: Bigger Team, Deeper Impact, New Ministries

Trusting God, Growing the Vision—The Next Chapter of Ministry in Cainta Unfolds

Last summer, a team of seven faithful believers flew to the Philippines, marking a new chapter—the launch of a multi-faceted ministry outreach that combined worship, teaching, service, and even martial arts. Now, they’re preparing to go back—but with even more in store. With three new members joining the team, the 2026 mission to San Juan, Cainta is growing—in size, vision, and spiritual depth. What began as a first step of obedience has quickly grown into a full-scale missional effort, set to reach children, families, and leaders in profound new ways.

From 2 Days to 5: A Bigger VBS to Share a Bigger Gospel

One of the highlights of the 2025 trip was Vacation Bible School. Originally planned for 100 children, the outreach doubled—serving more than 200 children. This year, VBS will run for five days, allowing for deeper teaching, relationship-building, and more opportunities to share the Gospel clearly and personally.

Medical Missions: From Eye Checks to Whole-Person Care

In 2025, the medical mission included basic eye screenings and optical checks. In 2026, it expands with vitamin distribution, prayer for every individual, and intentional one-on-one Gospel conversations.

Every visitor will receive physical care—but also the hope of Christ, shared in word and action.

A Heart for Mothers: The New “Mother’s Care” Ministry

During last year’s VBS, many mothers sat nearby—watching their children but not expecting to engage. As Chris Bitun and Riza Rivera ministered to them in the moment, the vision for a more intentional “Mother’s Care” ministry began to take shape. This spring, the team launches a new effort focused on connecting with, praying for, and sharing the Gospel directly with the women who support their families in Cainta’s urban—and often harsh and underserved—neighborhoods.

“There’s so much potential in reaching these women,” said one team member. “Many don’t attend church, but we have a chance to show them the love of Christ—maybe for the first time—as we minister to their real-world and understandable concerns: providing food for their families and ensuring their survival.”

We’re excited to focus on these mothers and equip them with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

Feeding Ministry: Nourishment for Body and Soul

The Feeding Ministry will continue to serve children and families facing food insecurity, offering not just meals, but also intentional prayer, Scripture, and Gospel-centered conversations with local families. Many of these precious children save their one small meal to take home, sharing it with parents or siblings who might otherwise go hungry. We pray and strive to have enough to provide for everyone in need. When we bring our loaves and fishes to Jesus, He does the miracle—and makes it all enough.

In a community where many children eat only what is provided at church events, this ministry serves as both a lifeline and a powerful reflection of Christ’s provision.

Equipping the Future: New Leadership Conference Launches

Another major addition to the 2026 trip is a Leadership Conference designed to equip young leaders at Christ’s Community Baptist Mission (CCBM).

“We noticed many of the leaders are passionate, but also young,” said inaugural trip member Deo Busacay. “This conference is about helping them grow in both leadership skills and spiritual maturity—doing everything for Christ, not just for results.”

Toughguys Returns: Martial Arts as Ministry

One of the most surprising and impactful parts of the 2025 trip was the Toughguys Karate Training—a martial arts ministry led by Seth Yu, a Taekwondo master, and Chris Bitun, a brown belt-Jujitsu instructor.

What began as a creative outreach has now become a key ministry for the local church. Many young leaders at CCBM are now attending because of their first experience in these martial arts classes.

“Since these children and young adults don’t have much materially, these physical activities have proven to be one of the most meaningful ways the church can offer them a safe place to learn, grow, and, of course, have the chance to meet and connect with Christ,” said Seth. “It’s about showing these kids that they’re valued, teaching discipline, and pointing them to Jesus in a way they can connect with.”

One Mission, Many Ministries

With so many components—VBS, medical missions, martial arts, feeding programs, leadership development, and now Mother's Care—the team is unified by a single purpose: to share the Gospel and reflect the love of Christ.

“We want to thank you for your support—and if you feel led to support us again, please do,” said trip leader Chris Bitun. “Please continue to pray for us. There are still so many who are lost over there. Pray for the team, pray that God is glorified—and thank you again.

We’ll be returning to the same church as last time so we can build on the relationships we’ve already started. Next year, we’re staying a little longer and doubling our efforts. When the team goes, the whole church goes.”

Your prayers and gifts are already making a difference as the team organizes and prepares for April 2026.

“Even though the trip isn’t until April, it’s never too early to start praying,” said Deacon John Patterson. “There are a lot of moving parts with all the ministries involved—and they’re adding even more this year. It’s really exciting to see.”

Your partnership helps bring the Gospel to life as we find Jesus, grow together, and change the world. God’s work is not finished—and the story continues.
